Format/Structure?

Organizing and gathering people to get regular games/playtesting can be a hassle! The goal of this is to have a bit of structure to playing games. Each CGN will consist of 3, one hour long “rounds”. You will be assigned a partner via the UGN app and you will play with said partner for the course of an hour however you and your partner see fit! If that means playing on Tabletop SImulator? GO for it! Webcam Matches? Run it! Just sitting for an hour and getting a second opinion on deck building?? Sounds good to me! (communication is key!) After the hour-long “round” is up UGN will pair you with another partner. Remember we are all here to play games, get better, and most importantly HAVE FUN!!!

Why use UGN?

There are 2 reasons to use the official UniVersus UGN app to pair games together!

1. If we use the UGN app partners will be selected at random. If you and a partner want to just match up for the whole night that's totally ok! Just let a Mod know in Tams Discord and they can drop you from the event (but know if you are dropped from the event you will not receive your allotted UVS Loyalty Points for the event)

2. THAT'S RIGHT WE GET LOYALTY POINTS!!! Along with the automation of pairing up partners for playing games UVS Games gives points out for free play nights. So why not take advantage of that and earn points for awesome rewards!!

How do I play with Paul?

Community Game Night is the best way to play with Paul on any given week (I'm not special I just wanted to leave this in because it was comedic)

What happens if there is an odd number of players/ there is a Bye?

Find a room and ask to join the rotation of games being played. We are all here to play games there's no reason to take the hour off

What happens if I show up late/leave early?

If you know you're going to be late to the event please let a Mod know so that they can make sure everyone has a partner to play with every hour. I don't mind adding you to the event if you are able to join and play DURING the first round. But if you know you can't start playing until round 2 or 3. I will not be able to add you to the UGN app and will accommodate where possible. If you have to leave early feel free to! Just make sure you drop in the UGN app so we avoid players not having matched partners.

Why not call this “playtest” night?

The idea of “playtesting” can have a negative connotation. In these CGN’s the goal is just to have people playing more games the way they WANT to play. If that means playing weird fun stuff you are just as welcome as the people grinding for Major Events.
